Are there any good and cheap apartments in San Antonio around the medical Center Area?

Moving to san antonio and don't know the area at all, but i want to live around the medical center/ Northwest area of town. How is the area? Could someone give me some feedback? Are there any good and cheap apartments in San Antonio around the medical Center Area?
I live in the medical area as well, Fountainhead Apartments is nice. It is big but it is gated and right now they have 99 dollar total move in special. The maintenance is great and the property is very nice. Kind of pricy. If you go to forrent.com and click the northwest medical area it will give you a list. They have studios to two bedrooms i pay 640 for a 1 bedroom but it has a fireplace, berber carpet, double kitchen sink, bathroom not in the bedrrom, dishwashwer, washer and dryer, big pantry, huge bedroom, huge walk in closet and the convenience of being close to I-10 and the medical area. Hope it helps. Also go to mysa.com if you want to check the crime at the address you might have in mind for an apt. When you go to mysa.com on the left there is a crime database type in the address of the apt complex you are interested in and it will tell you all of the incidents at that complex. Overall the area is nice i just moved here after Hurricane Katrina so its been about 10 months. I like it.
I HAVE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLUE!!!!!!Are there any good and cheap apartments in San Antonio around the medical Center Area?
I lived in Bent Tree Apts (2 minutes north of the Medical Center) for about 9 months this year and last year. They were okay, nothing fancy. If I were you I would check out apartmentratings.com to look at reviews and prices of apartments in NW San Antonio.
Try,.......Broken Oaks near Medical Building #2, it's real convinient, you could walk there!
