Does one require to have technical knowledge of a subject to assist a medical center in cancer literature ...?

I have an opportunity to volunteer at a cancer center to assist in literature seraches. But I am a non-medical person, who just wants to help out with general office work to gain some interaction with people.

Do I need to have technical knowledge(terminology etc.) to do this work? ThanksDoes one require to have technical knowledge of a subject to assist a medical center in cancer literature ...?
Technical knowledge helps, but if someone gives you the search terms, you don't need technical knowledge to preform searches and save the results. You only need technical knowledge if you need to come up with the words to search for or to evaluate search results to determine if they are relevant.
