Medical Center - the part of a city where medical facilities are centered



Hospital - An institution which is primarily engaged in providing medical, diagnostic and major surgery facilities for medical care and treatment of sick and injured persons on an inpatient basis under supervision of duly licensed physicians and 24-hour nursing service. A hospital does not include a convalescent home, rest home, nursing facility, facility affording custodial or educational care, facility for the aged, drug addicts or alcoholics.Whats the difference between a medical center and a hospital?

Ahospital is way bigger and better prepared to deal with all kinds of illnesses than a medical center, which is basically very focused on one medical area (i.e.oncology)or a very little general medical institution (general practioners attending not a such big number of people).
