I am looking to relocate to Houston near the Medical Center.?

My girlfriend and I are looking for a apartment around the Medical Center area. She will be working at one of the medical center so I wanted to get suggestions on any apartments in the area? Somewhere quiet without alot of partying college students. Nice peaceful area. Central air would be a plus. Price range arounf $550-$700. If you hvae something in mind let me know. It's rare to find apartments in Houston without central air so you're fairly safe in that category. Since the Medical Center is inside the loop (Loop 610) rental rates will be higher the closer you are to work. To get a decent place away from noise, crime, etc. plus close to work you're looking at a minimum of $700 per month for a really nice one-bedroom in a quiet neighborhood. The nicest neighborhoods nearest the Med Center are Bellaire, Southside Place, and West University. Other areas inside the loop are The Heights, The Museum Area, Montrose, etc. There are older properties in the Montrose and Heights areas that are much more quiet and peaceful than any other area. This is because they don't have an abundance of huge apartment complexes to offer. Most are small complexes with more professional types living there.



If you are not from Houston you can contact an apartment locator and be very specific about your needs and your budget. They will do all the leg-work for you and it won't cost you a dim. I would also recommend signing the shortest lease possible until you are sure this is where you want to stay long-term. That way, if you don't like the area, you can move in 6-months. Or, if you do like where you landed, you can sign a longer lease next time.



Your best bet on finding something you like, in a neighborhood you like: Get an Inner Loop Greensheet (free publication) or start driving around the neighborhoods you like and look for signs in yards. The best properties out there do not list themselves with realtors or locators.
The medical center is full of apartments, and traffic. If transportation is not a problem, consider checking out apartments down on Hwy 288. They are all new, opened within the last 3 years. In Pearland the St. Andrew's apartments are right in your price range (these have been opened 5-7 years). Pearland is about 20-30 mins. from the medical center and the medical center seems to be moving out towards Pearland with several hospitals and medical facilities in the works. I have a friend who just moved out of the medical center area because of traffic and crime. Also remember that even on the weekends there can be a lot of traffic in parts of the medical center during football season and rodeo season.I am looking to relocate to Houston near the Medical Center.?

You will need to move farther out of the City to get a cheaper rate.

Say 30 mins, away from town. Unless you find someone in the area who's renting a room out in their house.
