Does the Manipal University Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC) 6 yr program need MCAT?

With the 6 yr medical program at Manipal University (Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC)), do the students need to take teh MCAT before they take the USMLE Step 1 or do just not take teh MCAT and go straight into the Step 1?

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!! IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED = )Does the Manipal University Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC) 6 yr program need MCAT?
KMCIC doesn't require an MCAT for admission nor promotion into the Medical School for students who begin in the Premed component of KMCIC.

Step 1 is the first part of the United Stated Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE Steps 1, 2 %26amp; 3) taken and passed half way through medical school. Steps 1 %26amp; 2 are taken and passed prior to graduation. Step 3 is usually taken and passed in the first year of Residency. Thus ends the Academic (Basic Science) component of medical school and begins the Clinical component in US hospitals.

Hi Tipton,

I am currently in the Masters of Science in Biology at UCSD. I will receive my MS in December 2010. I am interested in the KMCIC Medical program and was wondering what my options are and how the admissions process works for US citizens who would like to do their residency in the US.
